Once upon a time…
Once upon a time… in a land where golden fields kissed the sky and ancient forests whispered secrets to the wind, my story began. I am Galia Kouzmanova, a seeker, a dreamer, a weaver of past and future. My soul dances between the wisdom of old and the promise of new, carried by the gentle hum of bees and the echoes of ancestors who walked this earth before me.
I was born in Bulgaria, a land of magic and mystery, where fairytales of “самодиви”—ethereal forest nymphs dancing under the moonlight—filled my childhood dreams. I listened in awe to stories of “огнени лами”, fiery serpents of legend, and the fearless “нестинари”, fire-walkers who danced upon burning embers, protected by faith and unseen forces. These tales wove a world where good always triumphed over evil, where courage and kindness were the most powerful magic of all.
I immigrated to the U.S. with my family in 1998 from Bulgaria, carrying with me a deep appreciation for history, ancient civilizations, and diverse cultures. I’ve always been naturally curious, constantly seeking to learn something new each day.I love hearing people’s personal stories, understanding different perspectives, and exploring the unseen forces that shape our world.
The spirit of Orpheus, the ancient bard who spoke with nature through his divine music, has always called to me. His melodies could tame wild beasts, soften the hearts of gods, and bridge the realms of the living and the dead. I, too, have sought that connection—the harmony between soul and earth, between creation and consciousness.
I grew up with the whispered power of the Cyrillic alphabet, a gift of my ancestors that carried not just words but enchantment. Each letter held a story, a vibration, a piece of wisdom passed down through centuries. Language was never just a tool; it was a portal to something greater—a force that shaped nations, preserved knowledge, and carried the soul of a people.
But my journey was not only one of folklore and history. My grandparents and great-grandparents were beekeepers, guardians of a tiny, intricate world where harmony ruled and every creature had a purpose. I was mesmerized by the bees—their perfect order, their devotion to their queen, their silent yet profound role in sustaining life itself. From them, I learned the delicate balance of existence, the sacred rhythm of nature, and the beauty of a world that thrives when all its parts work together.
My great-great-grandfather once set his eyes on the horizon and stepped onto a ship bound for America—the land of unlimited opportunities. He never returned, chasing a dream that echoed through generations until it became part of my own journey. In 1998, my family and I followed that same dream, carrying the stories, traditions, and unshaken spirit of our ancestors into a new world.
And yet, through all my seeking, one truth remains: my family is my greatest treasure. My children are my guiding stars, their laughter reminding me why we must build a future of conscious choices and mindful living. My husband, my rock and my greatest supporter, gives me the strength to bring my vision to life.
From these stories, from these roots, Pure Cotton Lifestyle was born—not just as a movement for sustainability, but as a philosophy, a way of life. It is an invitation to live in harmony with nature, to cherish what is real, to choose simplicity over excess, and to find magic in the everyday.
